Telluride Goes Hybrid for the First Time

The second-generation Telluride joins the growing list of large hybrid crossovers, now positioned alongside competitors like the Toyota Highlander Hybrid, Grand Highlander, Mazda CX-90 PHEV, and Hyundai Palisade Hybrid.

Kia’s new Turbo-Hybrid system includes:

• 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine
• 1.65 kWh lithium-ion battery pack
• Integrated electric motors for instant torque
• Combined 329 horsepower
• 339 lb-ft of torque — 77 more than the previous gen
• Up to an estimated 35 MPG combined
• Roughly 600 miles of estimated driving range
• Available FWD or AWD

This hybrid powertrain gives the Telluride the perfect blend of power, silence, and efficiency for Minnesota road trips, commutes, and winter driving.

Updated Turbo Gas Engine for More Strength

Kia has retired the 3.8L V6 and replaced it with an all-new 2.5L turbocharged four-cylinder paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
