If you appreciate the practical perks of a midsize sedan, such as easy-to-handle dimensions and great fuel efficiency, but you also want something a little different, you should look for a Kia K5 for sale. This model’s striking profile creates the appearance of speed even when it’s standing still. Its interior is refined yet welcoming, and its modern technology can keep up with the busiest of individuals.
For 2025, Kia made some notable enhancements to its midsize sedan. You’ll see style changes inside and out, upgraded technology, and improved performance. Also, a couple of sweet convenience features made their way into the upgrade! Overall, the refreshed K5 makes a stronger statement than ever before. Let’s dive into the 2025 updates to see if the new K5 could be right for you.
A Facelift That Demands Attention
If you see the 2025 Kia K5 cruising around and think it looks a little bolder than before, you’d be correct. The K5 now has standard Star Map LED daytime running lamps. These lights are designed to mimic star constellations, adding to the model’s intergalactic aesthetic. Meanwhile, standard amber positioning lights create what resembles an eyebrow over the headlights, bringing more attention to the outside of the K5’s front fascia.
You’ll also notice a more exposed black grille on the front fascia for a slightly more athletic look. The headlights have also taken on a more extreme angle. All in all, the 2025 K5 stands out in a crowd of midsize sedans that have more understated designs.

Tech Advancements That Wow
Whether you’re taking client meetings, attending conventions, or keeping up with a busy social calendar, you need solid tech in your sedan. The 2025 K5 is ready to impress you with its technological advancements.
Slide into the driver’s seat, and you’ll immediately notice a new single-pane curved display containing a 12-inch instrument screen. Also new is a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, which makes it easier than ever to see your navigation and other journey information, along with your connected smartphone apps. Previously, the standard screen was only eight inches, and the largest available option was 10.25 inches; now, you get a full 4.3 inches more of touchscreen standard.
Together, these two screens almost cover the entire dash area, surrounding you with details that range from informative to simply entertaining. The inside of the new K5 feels like the command center of a spaceship, which is appropriate given its intergalactic aesthetic.
Do you need to connect your smartphone to your touchscreen? You can now do so even when you forgot to pack your USB cord, thanks to wireless smartphone connectivity, which now comes standard on all K5 trims. So you won’t be stuck staring at your device’s small screen to check the next direction or see who’s calling—a much safer option.
Even the HVAC and audio systems have gone more high-tech for 2025. Perched beneath the air vents, you’ll find a wide screen, bookended with a knob for your climate control on one side and volume control on the other. As you adjust either, you’ll see their associated icons changing on the screen. It’s a much sleeker, more modern approach to the usual analog readouts for these systems.
Convenient Over-the-Air Updates
We can’t forget the over-the-air (OTA) updates. Have you ever noticed that your smartphone will notify you when it’s time for an update so you can fix bugs or generally enjoy system improvements? Well, your 2025 Kia K5 can do that, too.
When OTA updates are enabled, you’ll receive notifications to your Kia Access app anytime your vehicle’s software receives a new update from the manufacturer. Once your engine is off (just like when a phone is off), the updates can automatically install. They’ll never install while you’re driving, so as not to interrupt the normal use of your technology features.
These updates can span everything from the infotainment system to performance enhancements to driver assistance improvements to navigation updates to software patches. Many customers enjoy that OTA updates eliminate the need to bring their vehicle to a dealership every time it’s time for an update. So you don’t need to take time out of your busy schedule to enjoy the most tech-forward and savvy K5.
An Accommodating Center Console
If you spend a lot of time behind the wheel, then you likely rely heavily on your center console. It’s your snack table, your device holder, and your armrest; it’s where you go over documents and contracts one last time before a meeting. For 2025, Kia updated this critical focal point of the driver’s area, and we think you’ll like what they’ve done.
You’ll find larger cupholders, so you can finally pack that oversized thermos whose fluids will get you through the day. A wireless charging pad complements the wireless smartphone connectivity features, enabling a 100% cord-free experience for a neater driver’s center. Plus, USB ports at the rear of the console allow backseat passengers to power devices on the go; there’ll be no more shoulder taps and “Can you plug this in for me?” requests.

A More Powerful Standard Engine
Previously, the K5’s engine options included a standard 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that made 180 hp and a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that made 290 hp for the GT trim. For 2025, the K5 is ditching the 1.6-liter engine entirely. In its place is a standard 2.5-liter normally aspirated four-cylinder engine, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The new standard engine increases power output by 11 hp, to 191 hp, so even drivers who don’t spring for the higher trims can enjoy a little more oomph. What remains the same for the standard engine is default FWD (but available AWD, so you can still get added traction if you need it for slippery roads or driving off paved roads). The top-of-the-line engine, reserved for the GT trim, remains the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, still generating 290 hp.
Kick Things Up a Notch in the 2025 Kia K5
Did we spark your curiosity about the all-new K5? We thought we might have. It’s packed with features that help it steal the spotlight in a sometimes mundane vehicle segment. The K5’s façade has benefited from refreshing updates, like more eye-catching LEDs and a bolder grille. Inside, enormous screens create a futuristic look while presenting practical perks. A sleeker HVAC and audio display continues the state-of-the-art technology upgrades, and standard wireless smartphone connectivity allows for a cleaner, cord-free cabin.
