The standard 2023 Kia Sportage engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 187 horsepower. Kia offers a mild-hybrid Sportage with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder and an electric motor for 226 horsepower. Both powertrains can be outfitted with front- or all-wheel drive.

The EX model has synthetic leather upholstery, heated front seats, heated side mirrors, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Navigation, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and wireless device charging.

The X-Line with AWD has trim-specific styling features inside and out, along with higher ground clearance and 19-inch wheels. The SX comes with a larger infotainment screen with an eight-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio system. It also has a panoramic sunroof, a hands-free power liftgate, and 18-inch wheels. The SX Prestige has more comfort features like a power-adjustable front passenger seat, LED projector headlights, and a heated steering wheel.

Kia also offers the Sportage with some off-road styling features. The X-Pro has the luxurious comfort features from the SX Prestige trim with a multi-terrain drive mode selector, all-terrain tires, and rugged exterior features. The final choice is the X-Pro Prestige has power-adjustable front seats, both with ventilation. This trim also has more active safety features.

Impressive Standard Safety Features

Kia outfits all Sportage trim levels with several driver-assistive features. The standard list includes Forward Collision Warning with Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Forward Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane-Keep Assist, Driver-Attention Monitoring, Rear Parking Sensors, a Rearview Camera, and Automatic High-Beam Headlights.

Mid-level and high-end trims have additional driver-assistive features like Blind Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Stop-and-Go Adaptive Cruise Control, a Highway Driving Assist system, Front Parking Sensors, and a Surround-View Parking Camera System.
